Combining a love for British guitar pop songcraft with crunching power chords and a flair for the absurd, Cheap Trick provided the necessary links between '60s pop, heavy metal, and punk.

I do like "Never Had A Lot To Loose" which probably could have fit on any early Cheap Trick work, and "Ghost Town" is a nice balled even though it was co-written by schmaltz queen Dianne Warren. The rest of the album is overproduced, very 80's sounding and /5(61).

The other singles from the album were "Ghost Town", "Never Had a Lot to Lose", and "Let Go"; "Ghost Town" and "Never Had a Lot to Lose" also charted. Lap of Luxury went platinum and became recognized as the band's comeback album. Billboard commented: "After a long hitless streak, Cheap Trick brings it all back home. This is the quartet's.

Feb 23,  · Never had this particular album before on any medium, but the sound is amazing on the promo. but also do a lot of crate digging for vinyl as well. Punch holes or cut marks don't indicate that it was an early promo copy. It was just a white label LP in a plain white sleeve with the word "BOSTON" and what turned out to be the catalog.

Dec 19,  · Cheap Trick's concerts at the Budokan Arena were recorded for a television program – which ended up becoming an album that appeared after their third album, 's Heaven Tonight. Heaven Tonight captured both the energy of their debut and the hook-laden song craft of In Color, leading to their first Top single, "Surrender", which peaked Seller Rating: % positive.
